The story has to be checkable

Good history is not about sounding sure. It is about showing where it comes from.

Sources first

Every script is written from books, archives and official records. Each claim in the story gets a number that leads to its source, with one line on what that source supports. Film 1 rests on 14 of them, from a parliamentary answer to the history of the first British container terminal.

Checked before recording

Before a film is recorded, every claim is checked again. What we cannot confirm, we leave out or say plainly that it is uncertain. McLean's day of waiting at a New Jersey dock in 1937 comes from his own account, and the film says so.

Where we use AI

The illustrations are reconstructions made with AI image tools and are not historical photographs, so every caption says so. The narration is an AI voice. The research, the script and the fact-checking are our own work.
